Patch In Labs

About

Live production deserves better software. We’re starting with talkback.

Too much of the software around broadcast kit is fragile glue, vendor black boxes or one person’s scripts. Patch In Labs is a new studio working to change that, starting small and building in the open with the crews who use it.

Founders

Who we are

We are two pharmacists who also work with AV systems and have built AV racks from the ground up. Patch In Labs brings those together: careful, process-driven work, applied to the tools live production crews rely on. Today we share the work across the company equally.

Bhavin

Co-founder · Patch In Labs

Bhavin is a pharmacist who now works in healthtech, building software day to day.

Alongside that, Bhavin works with AV systems, has built AV racks from the ground up, and has worked hands-on with Blackmagic Design and broadcast equipment.

Manifesto

How we build.

Built With Crews

We’re early, and that’s the point. The first crews to use our tools shape what they become. Feedback goes straight to the engineers building them, not into a support queue.

  • ✓Early adopters talk directly to the people writing the code
  • ✓Ship small, improve often
  • ✓Features come from real shows, not guesses

Zero Black Boxes

You should be able to see, understand and own what we build. Source, telemetry and documentation are part of the delivery: no lock-in and no mystery state.

  • ✓You own the code and the architecture docs
  • ✓Every component exposes its own telemetry
  • ✓Configuration lives in version control

Talkback, rethought.

PatchTalk, our first tool, is in design. Early access opens once we start building. Monitoring and control for Blackmagic gear comes next.
